Artie Flora is based in Somerset. It was started by Dawn Bowring, who is an experienced full qualified interior designer. She has worked on many projects in the UK and overseas and these include restaurants, hotels, chateaus, villas and wonderful English country houses. Dawn has been involved in the making and design work of garden furniture for many years. Her involvement with the parasols has grown year on year with the design, quality of materials used and the construction. She works directly with craftsmen and craftswomen.
Ilminster Emporium is home to The Chair Ladies. Traditional upholstery with a modern twist. Very often saving things from land fill, we breathe new life into pre-loved chairs and furniture. We can also re-upholster your treasured chairs in a fabric of your choice. Also undertaking the almost lost art of re-caning, which very often is demonstrated within the Emporium. Sandra and Jean have been working hard during the lock down creating some very exciting new pieces and they are now putting them on show.

Based in rural Somerset on the outskirts of Ilminster, Melanie loves to source natural textured
materials such as wood and slate for creative re-purposing and up-cycling.
An array of slate products such as signs, plant labels, coasters, place-mats and table centres for
weddings, can be found which are all hand-cut to size and shape; squares, rectangles and hearts
Signs and decorations are uniquely hand painted using a brush (no paint pens allowed here!), with
various wording, quirky quotes and mandala style designs. All signs are wax finished for protection
unless stated for outdoor use; in which case they are finished with a durable Yacht varnish.
Signs can also be made to order on request and personalised for that extra special touch!
